Located west of Carroll, this standard through girder bridge crosses the Middle Raccoon River.
Built in 1901, the bridge consists of three through girder spans. It is likely that the bridge had stone substructures originally. However, it appears that these were replaced with concrete, possibly in an attempt to raise the bridge.
It is currently unknown why there was a need to rebuild the structure. The girders are standard design, indicating the 1902 build date.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in good condition. Some strengthening of the bridge has been done, and the substructures remain in excellent condition.
The author has ranked this bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design.
